The Children Of Lir

In Irish mythology, the children of Lir turned into singing swans for 900 years by their step-mother Aoife. They are then restored to human form but, being 900 years old, die immediately. Rockville Street, Belfast, painted at “Cáisc 1995”, with “síle-na-gig” also mentioned, perhaps because of the association both have with fertility.
